Why not set up alternatives to Google, Facebook, YouTube, et al, without the government control you propose.
Such proposals as controlling speech on the Internet plays into the hands of those who want to bring back the "Fairness Doctrine," not only for broadcast radio and TV, but cable TV and the Internet (under the guise of "net neutrality") as well.
