You have to look to the posthumous personality cults of Dishonest Abe, FDR, JFK.
Some might say that Bill Clinton and George W. Bush are living versions of personality cultism.
This was certainly NOT what the Founding Fathers (perhaps save for Alexander Hamilton) had in mind.
